When Disney bought out LucasFilms, a lot of us were rigid (for one reason or another) with the thought that the Big Evil Disney had grabbed at not only our super heroes, but our space heroes. Today we discover a few new details about the resurrected franchise.

For one, according to a report from The Guardian, the production will take place thirty years after the events in the last (third?) film, Return of the Jedi. R2D2 will be returning. Let the fan boys, and girls, rejoice. It also appears we’re going to be seeing many other familiar characters returning to the silver screen.

And, reported from starwars.com, Disney will begin shooting on May 14th of this year (2014) at the historic Pinewoods Studios in London; the stages that have been producing such films as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2, X-Men: First Class, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Hobbit Trilogy, among enough others to fill a wiki page.

With some minor updates, JJ Abrams and Disney have generated enough buzz to warrant a record breaking weekend when the first film of the Disney Star Wars. Until then seeping reports like the ones from today will have to satisfy the fandoms, and the interested parties until December 18th of next year.
